Developments currently being pursued for the next release future releases of SU2 (tentatively scheduled for Summer 2012) include:
- Extended CGNS support (more mesh input capability, solution output and parallel support)
- Dynamic meshes with sliding interfaces for unsteady simulations
- Time-accurate continuous adjoint for unsteady design
- Time spectral integration for unsteady periodic flows
- Axisymmetric implementations (Reacting NS)
- Discrete adjoint methods for the Euler equations
- Rotating frame implementation for the RANS equations
- Mesh adaptation feature expansion (for parallel calculations and multiple cell types)
- Multi-species viscous flows (Reacting NS) for air and CO2 gas chemistry models
- Extended CGNS support (more mesh input capability, solution output and parallel support)
- Adding support for multiple optimizers for optimal shape design
