Downloading SU²

The SU² software suite version 2.0 is available for download under the GNU General Public License (GPL) v3. Please reference the License page for terms and conditions.

• Source code tar files are available for download, along with pre-compiled binary executables for selected platforms.
• Test cases (configuration and mesh files) are included as a separate tar file.  If you would like to run our tutorial cases or perform V&V on our established cases, be sure to download this additional file.
• Release Notes are available for major and interim releases.
• The development team looks forward to your feedback. Please join the SU² community by subscribing to the user's mailing list to receive important updates about the code, and send your feedback directly to the developers through the developer's mailing list. See the Contact page for details on the mailing lists.

  • Mac OS X: Gnu C++ compiler (gcc 4.2.1, Apple Inc. build 5658).

  • Windows 7 Installer: Intel C++ compiler, version 12.1 (x64 platform, x86 built available shortly).

NEW - SU² mesh output from Pointwise - more

Note I: Binary distributions for Mac OS X and Linux have reduced functionality; all optional libraries and dependencies are removed.  To run CGNS meshes and parallel computations, you must download the source code and compile with the appropriate optional dependencies described fully in the Installation page.

Note II: The Windows installer contains options for building with MPICH and CGNS support.

Note III: SU² has been validated using the following C++ compilers: gcc 4.2.1, gcc 4.1.2, and icc 12.0.2. If you identify any problem using another C++ compiler, please let us know as soon as possible.

Development Releases 

For active members of the SU² development team, the most current version of the software package is available on the Aerospace Design Laboratory's Subversion software repository. Contact the ADL server administrators if you would like to request access to the repository.

Third-party Downloads

The following is a list of some third-party software packages that extend the capability of SU². Each is freely available and is linked to the corresponding download site. Much more information on these packages can be found on the Installation page.

• ParaView (data visualization package)
• Python 2.6.6 (scripts for automating the SU² tools)
• NumPy 1.6.2 (package for scientific computing with Python)
• SciPy 0.11.0 (optimization algorithms used by SU²) 
• CGNS 3.1.3 (allows the use of third-party meshing software that exports the CGNS format)
• METIS 4.0.3 (graph partitioning for running simulations in parallel, see installation page for more detail)
• OpenMPI or MPICH2 (MPI implementation for running simulations in parallel)

Version 1.1

Version 1.1 is an interim release of the SU2 suite (released June 24th, 2012).
